ICPC Trains Local Govt Officials On Anti-corruption

In continuity to its determination to take the fight against corruption to the grassroot level, the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) organised an anti-corruption campaign for the local government officials of the 36 states of the federation.


Speaking at the event in Abuja, the chairman of the commission, Mr Ekpo Nta,warned the local government workers to desist from corrupt practices as the local government are the most affected aspect of the three tiers of government.


Speaking further at the opening ceremony of the training programme on anti-corruption, ethics and integrity organised by the ICPC Anti-Corruption Academy, Nta, who noted that the programme was organised for chairmen, auditors-general and secretaries of Local Government Service Commissions also said it will enhance local government administration in the country.


The ICPC boss said the programme was aimed at enlightening political office holders on local government administration so as to prevent any act of corruption in the course of their duties to their fatherland
